Repair of 12 DN150 diameter house connections in a densely built-up area of the 19th century.

The work was carried out without access to the basements of residential buildings, without excavation in the surrounding areas and without coordination with residents.

SP technology!RES allowed to restore the tightness of the pipelines, preserving the historical infrastructure of the city.

What did the customer encounter?

Hamburg’s historic center is a densely built—up area with limited access to utilities. Cast-iron sewer outlets, laid more than 70 years ago, have fallen into disrepair: multiple fistulas, cracks and leak-proof joints.

The main problems:

Access to the pipes is possible only through the basements of residential buildings
(private property)
Excavations in the surrounding areas required coordination with the Department of
Architecture (Monuments)
Residents opposed noisy work and the dismantling of coverings
The traditional repair method required the relocation of residents for the duration of
the work.
The city’s budget was limited
